I was recommended this place during a recent stay in Burnham-On-Sea. I was glad I went.
It’s a big place, run by Ollie – who seemed to have many hats on, (host, server, tea and coffee maker, cleaner), but he was cheery and efficient. I went for the Ollie’s All Day Breakfast, my wife went for the veggie option.
“Served with a butcher’s sausage, a rasher of butchers thick cut bacon, fresh tomato, flat mushroom, Heinz Baked Beans, free range egg and toast”. The bacon was some of, it not, the best I have ever eaten. Extremely tasty, thickly sliced. Perfectly cooked. If there was anything to criticise it would be that the beans should be served separately, and it was let down a little by the toast – I would have preferred thicker, ‘proper’ bread, not just a sliced loaf.
If the above sounds harsh, don’t let me take away the fact that for £5.95, this is an exceptional breakfast. A couple of tweaks and it could be outstanding. As it stands, I will say its still very good.
The Veggie Breakfast was good. Sadly, it was let down a little by the beans touching everything, (it’s not just me!), (The sausages were Quorn).
