I have never been a fan of garden centres, they seem to sell any old crap in a massive warehouse. They all seem to have overpriced cafe’s now, too. Today, I went to Solihull, to see what the breakfast was like. I wasn’t overly impressed….
Notcutts Menu
Firstly, there are plastic flowers on the tables. Its a garden centre!

Secondly, the menu was really confusing:
I am still unsure as to which breakfast I had, all I know is that I was really pissed that toast was an extra?
The beans were OK, however the hard fried eggs very greasy, leaving a very greasy plate.

My wife has the vegetarian breakfast, she said it was ‘fine’ rating it 6/10, (comparing it to a Wetherspoons breakfast – but smaller), so you can imagine the quality of the ingredients here.

The bacon obviously had lots of water in it, as can be seen here, however it did taste very nice.

The ‘Dingly Dell’ sausage was herby and got an OK from me. Nothing special:

The toast was uncut, (which I prefer – you can put your runny egg on it – if you had one).

Overall, it was a confusing menu. I paid £18 something for 2 breakfasts and 2 teas. I thought it was OK value for money, I certainly wouldnt go back as I think the quality was mediocre.
