Mud Dock Cafe - Fried Eggs

Mud Dock Cafe Full English Breakfast – Bristol

I am a keen cyclist. This place is cycle heaven. There is a bike shope downstairs and its very bike themed upstairs, (with a penny farthing, a Brompton and a hybrid bike hanging from the ceiling). The building is amazing – and right on the river.

The service was rather slow, but the staff were very pleasant.

The standard Full English comes with scrambled eggs. I asked for poached and was told it wasnt possible, fried or scrambled. I went for fried. They were very snotty, which was a bit of a shame.

The other disappointment was that the breakfast was not very hot. My mushrooms were pretty cold, the rest was just luke warm. My favourite part of the breakfast was the setting. It was helped by the Brown Sauce being in a Cycling Bidon – a very cool touch.

Breakfast consisted of 2 bacon, 1 very good sausage, 2 fried eggs, home made baked beans, (very nice – obviously, I had mine in a ramekin), toast was hard, mushrooms, tomato, (which was missed off my breakfast).

It was so close to being an excellent breakfast, but if you take the time we waited, the fact that it wasnt very warm, the snotty eggs and the missing tomato, I cant give it more than a 6 – but I would go back, as I hope it was just a bad day?
