Its not quite Birmingham, but as the Little Chef is based all over the country, I thought I would give it a go.
Firstly, the staff were very nice. Secondly, the food was pretty decent. Its not anything that you are going to get a local provenance from, but if you want a slightly upmarket greasy spoon and a sizable breakfast, then the Little Chef is for you.
Don’t expect hygiene though, it wasn’t clean. In fact, it was pretty dirty throughout. Filthy chairs, (I changed mine to another and had to tip the rubbish off that).
The review is about the breakfast – so lets get too it:
2 perfectly fried eggs, a pot of beans, (correct!), 2 bacon, 1 sausage, half a tomato, 1 piece of toast, sliced, saute potatoes and mushrooms that were boiled, (this is a straight no, no for me – boiling kills the flavour).
The breakfast is decent. Its £7.99 which is decent value – and not as expensive as I thought it would be. Adding a coffee will put an additional £2.49 to the bill.
I have given it a 6, if it was cleaner, it could have been a 7, possible an 8.
