Following the fundamental rules of breakfast, it should comprise of the following:
- Bread, (normally toast)
If you serve a breakfast and it doesn’t comprise of these 4 ingredients, its not a breakfast. Simple as that.
Todays ‘breakfast’, came via a last minute breakfast at BHX, just before flying off on holiday. I thought I would give it a go, (I normally try to go for independents, of which there are none at the airport), so Giraffe was a chain that I had not tried previously, so thought I would give it a go.
Over all, it was quite nice. They fell foul to the beans touching the egg rule, which obviously put me on the back foot, but I soldiered on. 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, (fried well), a tomato, beans and potato wedges(?)
On the bright side, I did get a rude looking sausage:
I ordered toast separately. The breakfast was £9.95, the toast was an additional £2.35 for a couple of pieces of run-of-the-mill toast. For £12.30, you can get MUCH better – JD Wetherspoons offers a better quality – but for much less.
