It was local to me. They have an advertising board outside, promoting breakfasts. Even though its not an independent, I thought I would give it a go. I am glad I did.
£6.79 will fill you up. It gets you their Full English and a coffee or tea.
Breakfast consists of a Two rashers of grilled back bacon with two award-winning ‘Althams’ sausages, served with two fried eggs, flat mushroom, a hash brown, grilled tomato, baked beans, (sadly, not served separately) – and two slices of malted granary toast. Its a big breakfast that should fill the heartiest of appetites – it certainly filled me up.
The pub is now a part of the Ember Inns chain. Historically, its been badly run for years, so its still quite quiet, but for the sake of the hard working team there, I hope that it comes good – it certainly wont be for a lack of effort.
A friend of mine estimated that I would give this place a 4 or 5 out of 10 for the breakfast. I am very happy to say that he was very, very wrong!
Open for breakfasts Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 12:00midday.
